Dr. Mohamed Eldessouki defended his "habilitation work" on December 10th, 2015 before the "Scientific Council" at the Technical University of Liberec, Liberec, Czech Republic.

The habilitation work is a prerequisite for the promotion to the Associate Professor level (which is known as "Docent" in the Czech Republic and some other European countries). The defense composed of two parts; one that covers the teaching activities and skills, while the other covers the research activities. The research work was presented in a thesis that was evaluated by an "examining committee" as well as "external reviewers" (known as opponents).

After the presentations the "Scientific Council" held a "secrete ballot voting" to decide whether the candidate can be granted the degree or not, and the candidate should get at least two third votes from the members.

The Scientific Council voted FOR awarding the Docent title to Dr. Eldessouki
